L
ily joined youngsRPS through the Harper Adams
degree apprenticeship scheme, combining academic
study with hands-on experience designed to turn
theory into practical understanding of the rural
landscape. She reflects on how far she has come since
joining the business after completing her A Levels at
Barnard Castle School in 2023.
The Harper Adams Apprenticeship is a five-year
programme that combines university study with fulltime work, with teaching blocks at Harper Adams
University eight weeks a year. The remainder of the
time is spent in practice at youngsRPS, applying
learning directly to real-world situations. So far, Lily
has studied subjects including animal production,
sustainable crop production, compensation and
utilities, agency and tenancy law, taxation, and
valuation.
