Renters9 Rights Act 2025Timeline
After a lengthy legislative journey, the Bill received Royal Assent on 27 October 2025, officially becoming the Renters9 Rights
Act. This landmark legislation introduces the most significant reforms to the private rented sector in over 40 years. Over the
coming months, the residential lettings teams at youngsRPS will be closely monitoring developments to ensure we provide the
best possible guidance to our colleagues, landlords, and tenants.
While some initial changes come into force in December 2025, the most substantial reforms will take effect on 1 May 2026.
With only six months to prepare, there is a considerable amount for all parties to understand and implement.
